Conference: January 12-15, 2014
Student-led Shabbaton: January 10-11, 2014
Omni Interlocken Hotel, Broomfield, Colorado

The Renewal of Judaism is becoming a more essential challenge as we move into the 21st century, with 80% of our people choosing not to affiliate with contemporary synagogues and so many young people turning away from existing models of Jewish spirituality. This year’s conference theme explores these questions: What are the models that we believe the Jewish people need as we move forward in an uncertain future? What are the teachings, the healing practices, the tikkun nefesh and tikkun olam that we need to lift up in order to bring our people together, and connect in a meaningful way with people of other religious and spiritual traditions? What do we have to contribute to the healing edge of Jewish life at this pivotal moment in Jewish History? The 2014 OHALAH conference features:

  • Intensive learning in all Four Worlds: workshops, special guest speakers, text study, panel discussions
  • Ruach-filled davvenen: traditional, healing, chant, movement, meditation
  • Meaningful ritual and ceremony: Ordination of new mashpi’im (spiritual directors); ordination of new rabbis, cantors, and rabbinic pastors
  • Excellent gourmet kosher meals: vegetarian, dairy, fish
