Membership in OHALAH is open to qualified rabbis and cantors. Student membership is available to students who are in good standing in a recognized training programs. The criteria for membership and student membership is described on the relevant application below.

Membership in the RPA is open to qualified rabbinic pastors, chaplains and students of these professions. The criteria for RPA membership is described on the relevant application below.

Please allow six months from the date that your application is post marked for it to be processed. We acknowledge receipt of applications quickly, so if you have not received an acknowledgment of our receipt, please contact the appropriate person stated on the application.

Benefits of Membership

Members and student members of OHALAH and the RPA are entitled to:

•Discounted annual conference and shabbaton fees

•Participation in the OHALAH email discussion list

•Written verification of membership for employment and related needs

•Members may submit requests for publication of articles, teachings, sheet music and related items on the OHALAH website.

Associate Membership in OHALAH

Paragraph 3.2.2 of the OHALAH Bylaws provides: If a member of OHALAH is simultaneously a member of another Rabbinical Association that does not permit full membership in OHALAH, said member shall automatically be deemed an Associate Member of OHALAH. An Associate Member may vote and serve on a Committee but may not serve as an Officer or Director or participate in any placement that OHALAH may offer.

Student Membership in OHALAH

Paragraph 3.2.4 of the OHALAH Bylaws provides: A Student Member may vote but may not serve as an Officer, Director or member of the Ethics Committee or Membership Committee.
